The Aus Journey

What do you do if you can’t travel indefinitely? You tackle Australia a few states and trips at a time. That is what this family is doing and it’s given me plenty of inspo to do the same!

This trip is a long one, Jonathan, Nicole and their two kids are spending six months on the road in their Jayco Journey towed by a Holden Trailblazer.

Originally setting off from Warrnambool, Victoria, they headed straight up the middle in search of warmer climates.

Along the way they have had plenty of adventures. From digging for opals in Cooper Pedy to flying over Ayers Rock in a helicopter. Hiking up Kings Canyon to relaxing in the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park.

Next stop Queensland (if they ever leave the Five Acre Family garden ;) Where they hope to tick the next item of their bucket list, Cape York.

Touch wood, nothing has gone wrong on this trip, and I’m not surprised, with two very helpful, enthusiastic young boys and a great adventurous spirit you could throw anything this families way and they’d make the most of it!

So what have they learnt so far? A washing machine in their van and two toilet cassettes are very helpful and towing a short van has made off grid camps more accessible.

They just wished they’d taken the first leg of the trip a bit slower but they are certainly travelling at a slower pace these days.

And their only regret, they wish they could travel for longer!

Something tells me this isn’t going to be their last trip.
